The bottled water category was among the best performing in 2012.  Here's a more in-depth look at the global category based on a recent report by Canadean.

Asia Drives Growth
  • In 2013, bottled water volume in Asia is expected to increase by 16 percent
  • The region absorbs every 1 in 3 liters of packaged water consumed globally
  • Under-developed markets like Pakistan, Vietnam and the Philippines have a per capita consumption of less than 10 liters.
While China is a huge market and the largest consumer of packaged water in Asia, it is fragmented.  India, in fact, is the country seeing the most growth with more than 20% a year.
